| Knives-n-Roses Enameled Red Rose is colored using transparent vitreous enamels. The transparent enamel, fused onto the copper petals, allows the viewer to see through the glass. The textures on the copper petals, beneath the glass, provide a pleasing visual pattern and create an interesting depth. The deep Gem Green Thompson Enamel leaves provide a wonderful complementary contrast to the wine red of the bloom. The prominent thorns along the stem would convince the casual viewer that this rose first grew in the garden and was magically transformed into the sustainable form we now see. 15" long.
